Tis the season for festive films

With the Christmas season coming to an end, here are some ways to celebrate while you can! Here are some new Christmas movies and Holiday specials you can watch this Christmas season! Whatever your interest may be, from rom-coms to a new take on some classics, or maybe a fun animation, this season is aiming to deliver festive cheer.

Oh. What. Fun. Rated PG-13, Released Dec. 3, 2025

This Prime Video original is a comedic way to start the Holiday season. Following an exhausted mother, Claire Clauster (Michelle Phieffer), reaching her breaking point with the rest of her unappreciative family, Claire is on a mission to bring back the magic in Christmas for herself. On a quest for self-discovery and some much-needed relaxation, Claire realizes that sometimes the most important things can be the most aggravating.

Prep and Landing: The Snowball Protocol; TV-G, Nov. 27, 2025

This animated holiday special is the fourth installment of the Prep and Landing series. Following Wayne and Lenny, some elves who are known not to be the stealthiest agents, they embark on “Operation Nog”, a mission including a sick dog, some slight mishaps, and the fear of getting in trouble with Santa. Wayne and Lenny show the chaos that is Christmas in a light and festive way of animation.

Jingle Bell Heist; TV-14, Nov. 26, 2025

This Netflix original Rom-Com shares a little bit of suspense mixed with amusing fun to spice up the Christmas season. This adventure is an unconventional holiday film following two people who plan on robbing a London department store right before Christmas. Focused Sophie (Olivia Holt) and Nick (Connor Swindells), and their unlikely friendship that was born from a reluctant partnership during their scheme to get revenge on the explosive store owner Maxwell Sterling. For a playful and cheery 007 experience, you can be immersed in a world of plotting, sneaking, and snooping this Christmas.

A Very Jonas Christmas; TV-PG, Nov. 14, 2025

A Very Jonas Christmas, located on Disney+, takes us on a journey with Joe, Nick, and Kevin coming off a European tour. With an end goal of making it back to New York for Christmas, the siblings will have to face the hurdles of brotherly fights, chaotic adventures, and special guests interrupting their trip back home for the holidays.

Frannie Hitchins is an AP and IB at Marietta High School. Frannie joined The Pitchfork last year and enjoyed gaining experience in journalism. In her free time, Frannie spends most of her time dancing at Georgia Dance Conservatory as a company member with Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theater. Frannie enjoys going to concerts with her dad and says that her love of music mostly inspired her love of dance. She is also member of Fusion Youth at Marietta First United Methodist Church as well as a member of FCA. Frannie loves hanging out with her friends and can’t wait to see what this year has in store.
